Special Effects

In 1856, Oscar Rejlander created the world's first "trick photograph" by combining different sections of 32 negatives into a single image. In 1895, Alfred Clark created what is commonly accepted as the first-ever motion picture special effect. While filming a reenactment of the beheading of Mary, Queen of Scots, Clark instructed an actor to step up to the block in Mary's costume. As the executioner brought the axe above his head, Clarke stopped the camera, had all of the actors freeze, and had the person playing Mary step off the set. He placed a Mary dummy in the actor's place, restarted filming, and allowed the executioner to bring the axe down, severing the dummy's head. Such… techniques would remain at the heart of special effects production for the next century. Color enabled the development of such travelling matte techniques as blue-screen and thesodium vapor process.Steven Spielberg's film Close Encounters of the Third Kind boasted a finale with impressive special effects by 2001 veteran Douglas Trumbull. In addition to developing his own motion-control system, Trumbull also developed techniques for creating intentional "lens flare" (the shapes created by light reflecting in camera lenses) to provide the film's undefinable shapes of flying saucers. Live special effects are effects that are used in front of a live audience, mostly during sporting events, concerts and corporate shows. Types of effects that are commonly used include:flying effects, laser lighting, Theatrical smoke and fog, CO2 effects, pyrotechnics, confetti and other atmospheric effects such as bubbles and snow.

Deconstructing a Visual

The visual that I am doing is the cover art for Linkin Park's album Papercut.
This is a bit more difficult to deconstruct because it is so different but it is useing a hybrid photo of a soldier and some wings on it, the soldier is holding a flag which could represent victory or something of the sort.

Sexual Innuendo in advertising

I feel that this one video is using men and a "sexual" object and having the issue of a lot of men are very self conscious and a lot worry about getting women to like them and what they think they should look like.

This one shows something very very close to pornographic meterial and also  is an ad for the television channel SPIKE

I feel that this entire post is kinda inappropriate for a class full of immature people.

My Role

If I ever got offered a part in a production I would either be the guy that was the know it all like Sheldon in Big Bang Theory or if I was in a movie it would be either a war movie or it would be a movie that portrayed what the world would be like after some type of apocalypse and there were people that had survived and I would be the one who wold have command of some few survivors but die because I tried to save them all.
The way that I am would cause the director to be like this is my man he is kind caring and can lead in a tough situation

My Favourite Media

My favourite type of media is movies that have action, action and more action like "The Mechanic" with Jason Statham and also the movie "The Expendables" with a very large cast of famous action actors, a UFC fighter and a famous WWE wrestler.

John Marston is a former outlaw and bandit. He ran with Dutch van der Linde, Bill Williamson and Javier Escuella, committing bank robberies, train raids, murders and other various crimes across the country. According to Marston, the gang stole and fought for a reason.
