The First News Paper

The news paper of today compaired to the news papers of the past are quite few and far between other then what the news was about of course. Back then the goverment had control over the news but not as much as the news today, In 1690 Benjamin Harris was put in jail for his news print. Another small difference was the way that the papers were laid out, now they are laid out in the order of importance and on the front page are some "teasers" of the biggest news stories, while with the papers of old they were mostly three (3) pages of text no pictures with a fourth page for people to write their own comments.
